Heavy Agricultural Equipment Technician

Heavy Agricultural Equipment Technician to join a well-established equipment organization in the Fort Dodge, Iowa area.
This is an excellent opportunity for a technician who enjoys troubleshooting and repairing large agricultural equipment and wants to work with an organization that values experienced technicians and provides the tools, training, and support needed to succeed.
What You’ll Do
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain heavy agricultural equipment
- Work on tractors, combines, harvest equipment, planters, sprayers, and related machinery
- Diagnose diesel engine, hydraulic, electrical, electronic, and drivetrain problems
- Perform preventative maintenance and major component repairs
- Use electronic diagnostic equipment and service software to identify equipment issues
- Complete both shop and field service repairs as needed
- Document repairs, parts used, and work performed
- Communicate effectively with customers, service management, and parts personnel
- Help customers minimize downtime during critical planting and harvest seasons
What We’re Looking For
- Previous experience repairing heavy agricultural equipment
- Strong diesel engine troubleshooting and repair skills
- Experience with hydraulic and electrical systems
- Ability to diagnose modern electronically controlled equipment
- Experience with brands such as John Deere, Case IH, New Holland, AGCO, Massey Ferguson, Fendt, CLAAS, or similar equipment is highly desirable
- Ability to read electrical and hydraulic schematics
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to work independently in both shop and field environments
Experience with
precision agriculture, CAN bus systems, emissions systems, GPS, telematics, or advanced equipment diagnostics is a plus.
