We partner closely with our clients to deliver high-quality talent efficiently, leveraging disciplined sourcing, strong candidate engagement, and data-driven execution.

Position Overview
Constellation Search Group is seeking an Engineering Recruiter to identify, engage, and place top engineering talent across a variety of client organizations. This position is part of a staffing agency environment and is responsible for managing the full recruiting lifecycle across multiple client searches, while building strong talent pipelines and delivering a high-quality candidate experience.
The ideal candidate brings engineering recruiting experience within a staffing agency and understands how to manage client-driven searches, balance multiple requisitions, and assess professionals across disciplines such as mechanical, electrical, civil, manufacturing, industrial, quality, process, and related engineering functions. This individual will partner closely with internal leadership and clients to align search strategy with hiring needs, technical requirements, market conditions, and placement priorities.

Core Responsibilities
Engineering Talent Sourcing & Market Research
  • Source and identify qualified engineering professionals, including mechanical, electrical, civil, manufacturing, industrial, process, quality, design, and project engineers, as well as related technical talent.
  • Develop and maintain talent pipelines using recruiting platforms, referrals, networking, industry associations, and direct outreach.
  • Conduct market research to understand talent availability, compensation trends, geographic considerations, and competitive hiring conditions within the engineering space.
  • Build targeted search strategies for open roles based on discipline, level, certifications, technical environment, and client or business needs.
Candidate Engagement & Assessment
  • Engage candidates through professional, compelling outreach that accurately reflects the opportunity, technical environment, and employer brand.
  • Conduct candidate screenings to evaluate engineering experience, technical skill alignment, industry background, compensation expectations, career goals, and overall fit.
  • Maintain timely communication with candidates throughout the hiring process, providing updates, feedback, and guidance as appropriate.
  • Represent roles and opportunities with accuracy, professionalism, and attention to confidentiality.
Search Management & Placement Support
  • Manage active engineering searches in a staffing agency environment by organizing candidate pipelines, prioritizing outreach, and advancing qualified candidates across multiple client openings.
  • Prepare candidate summaries and present qualified talent to internal stakeholders or clients in a timely manner, highlighting relevant technical backgrounds, industry experience, and project exposure.
  • Coordinate interview logistics, follow-up communication, and offer-related discussions to support successful placements.
  • Maintain accurate records, candidate notes, and search activity within the applicant tracking system or CRM.
Collaboration & Process Improvement
  • Partner with internal leadership, hiring managers, and clients to understand role requirements, hiring priorities, and candidate profiles.
  • Refine recruiting strategies based on search progress, candidate feedback, and market intelligence.
  • Contribute to best practices, process improvements, and knowledge sharing across the recruiting team, including the thoughtful use of open-source AI tools to support sourcing, research, outreach preparation, and workflow efficiency.

General Duties
This role is responsible for driving engineering recruiting activity through consistent sourcing, candidate engagement, screening, pipeline development, and search execution. Success in this position comes from maintaining organized workflows, building strong candidate relationships, and delivering qualified engineering talent that aligns with client hiring needs.

Qualifications
  • 3+ years of recruiting experience, with prior staffing agency experience required and engineering recruiting experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience recruiting for engineering roles such as mechanical, electrical, civil, manufacturing, industrial, process, quality, or project engineers, or other related technical talent.
  • Proficiency with sourcing tools, applicant tracking systems, and professional networking platforms such as LinkedIn Recruiter.
  • Strong understanding of the engineering talent market, technical hiring processes, and candidate evaluation best practices.
  • Ability to manage multiple searches, maintain organization, and communicate effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with open-source AI tools and the ability to use them appropriately to support research, sourcing strategy, candidate outreach, and day-to-day recruiting efficiency is preferred.

Soft Skills for Success
  • Strong relationship-building and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Professional judgment and the ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Excellent listening skills and the ability to assess candidate motivations and fit.
  • A proactive, resourceful approach to problem-solving and search strategy.
  • Strong time management and adaptability in a fast-moving environment.
  • Collaboration, accountability, and a commitment to delivering a high-quality candidate experience, along with adaptability and sound judgment in using open-source AI tools to enhance technical recruiting effectiveness.
