Rush County Stone is currently seeking a self-motivated and dependable full-time Aggregate Plant Operator. An ideal candidate will have experience working within an quarry / mine and proven safety track record.
Aggregate Plant Operator Core Responsibilities:
Perform daily preventative maintenance and safety inspections on plant equipment
Conduct general plant maintenance and repairs
Replace or repair conveyor systems, screens, and related mechanical components
Fabricate and weld parts or structural components as needed
Operate various hand and power tools, including cutting tools
Operate heavy equipment as needed to support plant operations
Follow and enforce all company policies, safety procedures, and operational standards
Aggregate Plant Operator Key Skills:
Plant Knowledge: Working knowledge of aggregate plant operations and aggregate mining processes
Maintenance Skills: Ability to perform mechanical repairs, welding, and equipment maintenance
Equipment Operation: Capable of operating loaders or other heavy equipment when required
Tool Proficiency: Skilled in the use of power tools, hand tools, and cutting tools
Communication: Excellent verbal, written, and telephone communication skills
Reliability: Able to meet production-based goals and deadlines consistently
Physical Requirements:
Able to lift and carry 50 lbs
Able to climb stairs and ladders over 24 feet
Capable of working in outdoor and inclement weather conditions
Ability to navigate tight areas
Rapid emergency egress
Climb ladders
Sit for extended periods of time
Availability: Flexible schedule with willingness to work overtime and weekends as needed
Aggregate Plant Operators Desired Qualifications:
Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in a mining operation.
Minimum of 1-3 experience operating front end loaders.
Previous knowledge of MSHA regulations is preferred.
Minimum of high school diploma / GED.
Valid driver’s license.
Understanding of computerized controls and electronics.
