AI at Cvent: Leading the Future

Are you ready to shape the future of work at the intersection of human expertise and AI innovation? At Cvent, we’re committed to continuous learning and adaptation—AI isn’t just a tool for us, it’s part of our DNA. We’re looking for candidates who are eager to evolve alongside technology. If you love to experiment boldly, share your discoveries, and help define best practices for AI-augmented work, you’ll thrive here. Our team values professionals who thoughtfully integrate AI into their daily work, delivering exceptional results while relying on the human judgment and creativity that drive real innovation.

Throughout our interview process, you’ll have the chance to demonstrate how you use AI to learn, iterate, and amplify your impact. If you’re excited to be part of a team that’s leading the way in AI-powered collaboration, we’d love to meet you.

The AI Architect will be responsible for designing, building, and optimizing the systems and AI-powered infrastructure that drives the autonomous customer journey for client services. This role demands a hands-on technologist with deep experience architecting and implementing AI solutions—someone who writes code, builds integrations, and ships working systems, not just frameworks. You will drive cross-functional alignment by serving as the key liaison among Engineering, CDP, IT, and the Tech PMO teams—ensuring seamless project execution, clear communication, and timely delivery of critical initiatives. This role reports to the Vice President of Enterprise Services.

In This Role, You Will::
  • Systems Architecture: Architect and implement the systems infrastructure underpinning client services platforms—designing for reliability, scalability, and security across all customer touchpoints. Own technical decisions end-to-end, from architecture to working code.
  • Business Impact Measurement: Define and track key metrics to measure the impact of AI and systems initiatives on business outcomes such as CSAT, onboarding speed, efficiency, and cost reduction. Tie engineering decisions directly to measurable ROI.
  • Instrumentation & Data Capture: Collaborate with engineering and product teams to ensure comprehensive instrumentation in the codebase, capturing all relevant client interaction and operational data for actionable insights.
  • Process Orchestration & System Integration: Lead process orchestration initiatives, integrating and optimizing workflows across platforms such as Rudderstack, Salesforce, Gainsight, Avaamo, and Staircase AI. Demonstrate expertise in integrating systems so that user segmentation flows seamlessly from Customer Data Platform (CDP) to Product Experience (PX), enabling curated, personalized experiences at every step.
  • AI/ML Solution Integration: Hands-on design, implementation, and deployment of AI-driven solutions for support automation, customer health scoring, and workflow optimization. You will write the code, build the integrations, and own the systems—not just evaluate vendors or manage others who do.
  • AI & Systems Implementation: Design and build scalable AI-powered systems and pipelines that enable real-time insights, proactive interventions, and personalized client experiences. Hands-on coding is expected—this is a builder role.
  • Custom Design & Development: Write production-quality code (Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, or similar) to build and ship AI-powered features, integrations, and tooling. Comfortable owning implementations from prototype through deployment.
  • Technical Subject Matter Expertise: Serve as the hands-on technical authority for AI systems, process automation, and platform architecture within Client Services, leading by doing as much as by guiding.
  • Best Practices & Governance: Establish and enforce engineering best practices for AI systems, including testing, observability, and responsible AI governance across client services.
Here's What You Need::
  • Proven experience (10+ years) in systems architecture, software engineering, and AI implementation, ideally within a SaaS or technology-driven environment.
  • Hands-on software engineering skills with a strong track record of building and deploying AI/ML systems
  • Advanced technical engineering and data science skills, including hands-on experience with data modeling, APIs, workflow automation, and AI/ML integration. Proficiency in Python and/or JavaScript/TypeScript required.
  • Deep understanding of distributed systems, APIs, event-driven architecture, and instrumentation best practices.
  • Demonstrated experience with modern client services, technology stacks, and AI platforms (e.g., chatbots, customer intelligence, workflow automation).
  • Proven track record of implementing complicated integrations
  • Proficiency in scripting and backend languages (Python preferred); frontend experience (HTML/CSS/JS) a plus but not the focus of this role.
  • Proven ability to integrate systems to enable user segmentation and curated experiences from CDP to Gainsight PX.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and process optimization abilities.
  • Ability to translate business needs into scalable, high-impact technical solutions that deliver measurable ROI.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams and managing multi-stakeholder projects.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence across the organization.
