    Contingent Worker Information
    Position Title: AI/ Automation Engineer

    Work Schedule
    Monday through Friday. 7.5-hour workday with .5-hour unpaid lunch. Paid for actual time worked; there are no paid vacation or sick days. During NYPA and Canals holidays, the business is closed, and no work is permitted. NYPA requires a hybrid schedule of a minimum of 3 days on-site, up to including fully on-site depending on department requirements.

    CWPO Engagement Requirements
    Candidates are REQUIRED to be local to the Tri-State area and in W2 tax status as an hourly paid employee of Service Provider. Fully remote positions are prohibited. Hybrid schedules are permissible with a minimum of 3 days on-site depending on assignment and can be fully on-site depending on business needs. Remote work privileges can be revoked at any time. NYPA does not provide laptops. Instead, NYPA provides desktops and dedicated workstations which candidates will remote into from their personal equipment on virtual days. If candidate does not have proper equipment, internet connection, or he/she is deemed to not work effectively from home, the hybrid privilege will be revoked. Vendors must disclose foreign national status and all Visas at the time of candidate submission. Additionally, a Benefits Waiver and Ethics Disclosure will be required of the candidate during onboarding.

    Project Overview
    AI and Automation initiatives focus on leveraging technologies like RPA, AI/ ML, IDP and NLP to automate business processes to improve productivity and operational efficiency. Though this effort, we will develop and deploy scalable and efficient AI and automation solutions leveraging tools and technologies that are part of NYPA's technology solution building block.

    Job Functions & Responsibilities
    " Design, develop, test, and deploy scalable and efficient automation solutions using UiPath Studio, Orchestrator, and Robot.
    " Collaborate with business analysts and stakeholders to understand business processes and identify automation opportunities.
    " Integrate automations with AI/ML models, APIs, OCR engines, NLP services (e.g., Azure Cognitive Services, OpenAI, Google Cloud NLP) and other intelligent systems.
    " Develop and implement AI algorithms and models to enhance automation capabilities and improve decision-making processes.
    " Leverage additional automation tools such as Power Automate, or Python/RPA frameworks to build hybrid solutions when appropriate.
    " Utilize AI tools and technologies to perform data analysis, predictive modeling, and natural language processing to support automation tasks.
    " Implement best practices for automation design, logging, exception handling, and security.
    " Participate in code reviews, maintain documentation, and provide support for deployed bots.
    " Contribute to establishing automation governance standards and best practices across the enterprise.
    " Stay updated with the latest AI and automation trends, tools, and technologies to continuously improve and innovate automation solutions.

    Skills
    " Proven experience as a UiPath Developer with a strong understanding of UiPath Studio, Orchestrator, and Robot.
    " Hands-on experience building and integrating with AI/ML models, APIs, OCR engines, NLP services.
    " Proficiency in AI tools and technologies such as Azure Cognitive Services, OpenAI, Google Cloud NLP, or similar.
    " Strong programming skills in languages such as Python, R, or Java for developing AI models and automation scripts.
    " Ability to design and implement AI algorithms and models to enhance automation capabilities.
    " Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think analytically.
    " Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with business analysts, stakeholders, and team members.
    " Knowledge of best practices for automation design, logging, exception handling, and security.
    " Experience with other automation tools like Power Automate is a plus.
    " Continuous learning mindset to stay updated with the latest AI and automation trends.

    Education & Certifications
    " Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field.
    " 5+ years of experience with UiPath development, including Orchestrator, Studio, and attended/unattended bots.
    " Experience developing solutions using other automation tools (e.g., Power Automate, Automation Anywhere, scripting in Python or JavaScript).
    " Exposure to or hands-on experience with AI technologies such as machine learning models, OCR, NLP, chatbots, or conversational AI frameworks.
    " Strong understanding of REST APIs, JSON/XML, databases (SQL/NoSQL), and system integration.
    " Proven ability to translate business requirements into technical automation solutions.
    " Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
