Job Description

Teach Tomorrow’s Techs: Aircraft Systems Training Instructor (A&P)

Picture your day starting in a fully equipped lab, safety checks complete, torque wrenches lined up, and a group of aspiring technicians ready to learn from your real-world experience. By mid-morning, you’re walking students through troubleshooting aircraft systems, turning complex concepts into hands-on practice. In the afternoon, you’re mentoring a student team through a component overhaul and collaborating with colleagues to refine a module aligned with current industry standards. You head home on Friday knowing your weekends are yours—and that your guidance helped someone master a new skill.

Why Teach with Universal Technical Institute

  • Weekends off
  • Paid training—no prior teaching experience required
  • Tuition waiver after 6 months for you and your immediate family at UTI and Concorde campuses
  • Competitive paid time off (Vacation, Sick, Flexible, Holiday)
  • Retirement: 50% company match on the first 6% of your contributions after 90 days
  • Paid parental leave: 4 weeks for both birthing and non-birthing parents

  • Health plan eligibility begins the first of the month after completing one full month of employment

What You’ll Do

  • Create an engaging, inclusive classroom and lab environment where learners thrive and develop a passion for aircraft systems and components.
  • Lead hands-on demonstrations and labs that mirror real maintenance tasks—diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing systems with industry tools and procedures.
  • Enhance courses and help develop new content that reflects current technologies and practices.
  • Coach students on projects, encouraging critical thinking and problem-solving.
  • Champion safety protocols and best practices to ensure a secure learning environment.

What You Bring

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 5 years of practical aviation maintenance experience (excluding teaching)
  • FAA A&P license strongly preferred—if not current, we’ll cover the cost to obtain
  • Clear, confident communication and strong interpersonal skills
  • Patience, empathy, and a coaching mindset
