    Description

    Minimum Qualifications

    High school diploma or GED. Five years of skilled experience in public works projects, construction, electrical or mechanical repairs or installations, equipment maintenance or related fields are required. Must be able to work a permanent or rotating shift schedule to include nights, weekends and holidays. Applicants qualifying for employment with the Miami-Dade Aviation Department will be subject to extensive security screening, including but not limited to fingerprint checks, employment verification and such other procedures as may be mandated by federal law. The security clearance required by the federal law is a continuing condition of employment.

    The Aviation Department is seeking an experienced and results-driven Airport Facilities Maintenance Supervisor to oversee maintenance operations at both Miami International Airport (MIA) and General Aviation (GA) facilities. The ideal candidate will possess extensive knowledge of facility maintenance, public works maintenance, and operations to provide strong technical leadership and operational support to public works staff.

    This position requires a proactive leader who is committed to developing staff through ongoing education and training, managing vendor performance, overseeing maintenance budgets, and implementing data-driven preventive maintenance strategies to maximize facility reliability and operational efficiency. The successful candidate must also demonstrate exceptional emergency management skills, with the ability to lead public works maintenance teams in responding to critical situations, coordinating emergency repairs, and minimizing operational downtime in a fast-paced airport environment.
