DESCRIPTION
The East Troy Community School District has a position available for an AM & PM Crossing Guard position beginning in the 2026-27 school year. The successful candidate will possess strong background knowledge, skills and attitudes that support personalized learning environments by demonstrating the ability to:
- Must be available to work Monday - Friday from 8:10AM - 9:10AM and 2:45PM - 3:45PM during the school year.
- Provide for the safe movement of children to and from school when crossing public roadways and intersections by observing gaps in the traffic and leading the children across the roadway or intersection
- Hold a stop sign in such a manner as to be visible to approaching vehicles
- Signal children to cross in the designated area only after all approaching vehicles are stopped
- Remain with sign visible until all students have cleared the cross-walk
- Exhibit flexibility to support different school schedules at different grade levels (calendar and time changes)
- Report license numbers of reckless drivers and suspicious activity to the police and District Office
- Interact in a professional manner at all times with students, staff and community
- Communicate adequately and effectively at all times with all stakeholders
- Demonstrate dependability and good attendance
- Exhibit respect and good judgment
- Seek productive means to resolve conflicts
- Demonstrate accountability to the principal(s), supervisor(s), and administration
