Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Anaplan Integration Engineer with strong hands-on expertise in Python, Google BigQuery, SQL, and Anaplan integrations to enhance, maintain, and support an established enterprise integration ecosystem.
The ideal candidate will have experience working with Anaplan integration components, Python-based data pipelines, Google BigQuery, and downstream applications. This role primarily focuses on integration enhancements, change requests, production troubleshooting, data reconciliation, and continuous improvement of existing business-critical integrations.
The successful candidate should be comfortable independently analyzing integration requirements, modifying existing code and data pipelines, resolving production issues, and ensuring seamless data flow across enterprise applications.
Key Responsibilities
Anaplan Integration Development & Enhancements
Develop, maintain, and enhance integrations between Anaplan, Python-based services, Google BigQuery, and downstream enterprise applications.
Modify and optimize Anaplan imports, exports, saved views, actions, processes, and CloudWorks integrations.
Analyze enhancement requests and evaluate their impact on existing integrations and downstream systems.
Collaborate with Anaplan Model Builders to understand model changes and their integration dependencies.
Manage integration changes involving dimensions, hierarchies, attributes, planning measures, and data structures.
Python Development & API Integration
Develop, modify, and maintain Python scripts supporting enterprise data integrations.
Build and enhance REST API integrations for data extraction, transformation, validation, and loading.
Implement automation for file processing, data reconciliation, and integration workflows.
Troubleshoot Python-based integration components and optimize existing scripts for reliability and performance.
Work with JSON, CSV, and other structured data formats.
Google BigQuery & Data Engineering
Develop and optimize SQL queries, transformations, datasets, tables, and views in Google BigQuery.
Maintain source-to-target mappings and ensure data consistency across integrated applications.
Implement schema modifications and manage data structure changes while maintaining downstream compatibility.
Perform data validation, reconciliation, and troubleshooting across Anaplan and BigQuery.
Support ETL/ELT workflows and improve data processing efficiency.
Production Support & Troubleshooting
Monitor and troubleshoot production integrations, failed jobs, incomplete data loads, and interface errors.
Perform root-cause analysis and implement permanent solutions to recurring integration issues.
Investigate data discrepancies and resolve reconciliation failures across integrated systems.
Enhance integration logging, monitoring, exception handling, and operational automation.
Ensure high availability, reliability, and stability of business-critical integrations.
Testing & Collaboration
Conduct unit, integration, regression, and end-to-end testing for integration enhancements.
Collaborate with business stakeholders, Anaplan Model Builders, data engineers, and application development teams.
Document technical changes, integration dependencies, data mappings, and troubleshooting procedures.
Ensure that integration enhancements do not negatively impact existing business processes or downstream applications.
Required Qualifications
5+ years of overall experience in integration engineering, data engineering, or related technical roles.
Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience with Anaplan, including strong integration exposure.
Strong proficiency in Python development, particularly API integrations, data processing, automation, and troubleshooting.
Hands-on experience with Google BigQuery and advanced SQL for data transformation, validation, and reconciliation.
Experience working with Anaplan Integration APIs, imports, exports, saved views, actions, processes, and CloudWorks.
Strong understanding of REST APIs, JSON, CSV, ETL/ELT processes, and enterprise data integration patterns.
Experience maintaining and enhancing existing Python-based integration solutions.
Proven ability to troubleshoot production integration failures, data mismatches, and performance issues.
Understanding of Anaplan models, workspaces, modules, lists, hierarchies, dimensions, line items, time, and versions.
Experience performing integration impact analysis, source-to-target mapping, and data reconciliation.
Ability to independently manage technical enhancements and deliver reliable integration solutions.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with Anaplan Data Orchestrator (ADO) and Anaplan Application Lifecycle Management (ALM).
Familiarity with Google Cloud Platform services, including:
Experience with workflow orchestration tools such as Apache Airflow or Google Cloud Composer.
Knowledge of Git, CI/CD pipelines, and API management.
Experience supporting enterprise planning and analytics platforms.
Domain exposure to retail, merchandise planning, financial planning, inventory management, forecasting, budgeting, or supply chain operations.
