Anesthesia Tech Lead

Distinctive Healthcare is currently seeking to hire a full time Anesthesia Tech Lead at the Fort Sam Houston in San Antonio, TX.

Qualifications:

Certifications in addition to Basic Life Support: Have and maintain current certification in cardio pulmonary resuscitation (CPR) or basic life support (BLS). CPR, and/or BLS certification must be obtained through the American Heart Association and/ or Red Cross approved training program.

Experience: The contractor shall provide qualified personnel to fill the requirement for Anesthesia Technician services at a standard enabling the military treatment facility to maintain a high level of quality. A minimum of 1 year of healthcare experience within a perioperative setting is required.

All contract HCPs shall be able to read, write, and speak English well enough to effectively communicate with patients and other HCPs.

Possess the basic knowledge of aseptic technique and sterile fields.

High School Diploma and/or GED Equivalent Required

Duties:

• Will be responsible daily for assigning the contract anesthesia technicians to their work areas to include Main, CoTo, ORs and all ancillary areas requiring Anesthesia support.
• Will ensure that all anesthesia related tasks are fulfilled by the contract anesthesia technicians as mission requires on a daily basis. Ensure accountability is given to the department.
• Will be responsible for maintaining the monthly duty schedule established by DOA for the contract anesthesia technicians to ensure that adequate coverage is maintained according to mission needs on a monthly basis, as directed by the Department Chief of Department of Anesthesia or their designee.
• Will communicate with the contract Anesthesia technicians to ensure all supplies and equipment necessary are available and functioning properly.
• Will communicate with biomedical, manufacturer representatives and other departments as required.
• Will provide the contract anesthesia technicians adequate trainings and access to supplies, equipment and areas necessary to complete their duties.
• Will enforce all policies and procedures set by manufacturer, anesthesia department, hospital administration, and the federal government to contract anesthesia technicians.
• Will encourage teamwork and sharing skills to contract Anesthesia technician, to continually improve the department.
• Will conduct semiannual appraisals for contract Anesthesia Technicians and provide positive feedback when appropriate and disciplinary actions when necessary.
• The lead anesthesia technician supervisor will be available on Vocera, office phone, or cell phone during duty hours.
