Pay Rate: Starting at $33.00/hour

Schedule: Weekend Nights | Friday-Sunday | 6:30 PM-7:00 AM

Dean's Professional Services is seeking an experienced and highly skilled Anesthesia Technician II to support a leading healthcare organization in Austin, TX. This opportunity is ideal for an experienced anesthesia technician who is confident working independently, has strong knowledge of anesthesia equipment and airway management, and can anticipate the needs of anesthesia providers in a fast-paced clinical environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive technical support to anesthesiologists and the interdisciplinary care team.

   

• Prepare and maintain anesthesia equipment, supplies, and monitoring devices across multiple anesthetizing locations, including OR, Cath Lab, OB/GYN, and CV.

   

• Assist with anesthesia induction, patient monitoring, intubation, airway maintenance, IV placement, and invasive line procedures as directed.

   

• Assist with neurophysiologic monitoring and specialized anesthesia procedures.

   

• Anticipate anesthesia provider needs during invasive procedures, difficult airway situations, fiberoptic intubation, and trauma cases.

   

• Troubleshoot and resolve equipment issues to ensure safe and efficient patient care.

   

• Assist with volume infusions and salvaged blood processing according to department protocols.

   

• Provide technical support throughout procedures and respond quickly to emergency and trauma situations.

   

• Maintain appropriate infection control and safety standards.

   

• Work collaboratively with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.

   

• Serve as a mentor and resource to other anesthesia technicians, assisting with training and orientation.

   

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.

   

• 3 years of experience as an Anesthesia Technician required.

   

• BLS certification through the American Heart Association required.

   

• CER.A.T. certification through ASATT preferred/required, OR an associate degree from an ASATT-approved anesthesia technician training program.

   

• Five years of anesthesia technician experience may be accepted in lieu of CER.A.T. certification.

   

• Strong knowledge of cardiopulmonary anatomy, physiology, anesthesia procedures, and infection control.

   

• Advanced knowledge of anesthesia and airway management equipment.

   

• Experience setting up and calibrating pressure transducers and IV fluids.

   

• Strong equipment troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

   

• Ability to anticipate anesthesia provider needs and respond quickly during emergencies.

   

• Ability to prioritize tasks and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

   

• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

   

• Traveler experience preferred.

   

• Trauma, GYN, and Cardiovascular (CV) experience preferred.
