Animal Care Assistant

We strive to provide our guests with an exciting, educational, and memorable experience. 

Responsibilities include but are not limed to:

• Provide primary care for a diverse collection of birds, reptiles and mammals
• Provide primary care and rehabilitation to sea turtles and marine mammals
• Participate in the medical care and conditioning of our collection animals and rehabilitation patients.
• Participate in the daily opening and closing procedures, maintenance of our main campus exhibits and rehabilitation areas. 
• Assist in the preparation of food according to established procedure.
• Assist in the cleaning and maintenance of utensils and equipment used to feed and care for animals.
• Assist in facility maintenance of the animal areas.
• Perform water quality duties.
• Enter Data into TRACKS.
• Complete animal behavioral observations and report abnormalities to supervisor.
• Adhere to all governmental/AZA policies regarding acquisition, husbandry, records, and animal health.
