Animal Care technician

Mothership's client, a leading pharmaceutical company, is seeking an Animal Care Associate to support their team in Wilmington, MA. This position plays a crucial role in ensuring the welfare of their research animals. The Animal Care Associates dedication will directly impact the well-being of these animals and ultimately contribute to improving the lives of patients globally.

This is an onsite W2 contract position with duration of 6 months, and possibility of extension.

Entry-level Animal Care Associates will receive comprehensive training to support their success. This role serves as a foundation for individuals seeking to launch their career in life sciences.

Location: Wilmington, MA

Pay: $17.75/hour

Schedule: Schedule- 6am-3pm 9hr Shift M-Th and a 4 hour shift on Friday

Responsibilities:

• Maintain the well-being and health of research animals, encompassing food and water provision, and ensuring clean living environments.
• Receive, inspect, and properly house incoming animals.
• Conduct health observations, administer medications, draw blood samples, and provide injections adhering to established protocols.
• Additional duties may include restocking supplies and supporting other operational tasks as required.

Job Qualifications:

Candidates possessing the following qualities will receive further training:

• Ability to lift and carry up to fifty (50) pounds.
• Capacity to stand for extended periods.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Comfortable thriving in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
• Team-oriented mindset.
• No High School Diploma or GED required.
• Must reside locally as the role requires onsite presence.
• Minimum 6 months or more of prior working experience.

Biosecurity Note: Certain animals pose potential biosecurity risks (Mice/rats/rabbits/snakes/hamsters/gerbils/guinea pigs). Adherence to the pet policy is crucial.
