Animal Resource Center- Student Assistant

Carry out daily farm tasks such as feeding, watering and administering health checks on large arctic ungulates. Collect and accurately record research data. Assist in maintaining a clean facility, including but not limited to, scrubbing feed buckets, cleaning pens/stalls, sweeping and mopping the barn. Drive and maintain ATV's and ATV trailers. Assist in keeping the facility open and functional during winter months by shoveling, plowing, and snowblowing gates and alleys to pens and handling areas. Perform facility maintenance such as fixing gates, mending fences, cutting trees, etc. Conduct onsite tours if needed. Assist farm staff and veterinarians with animal handlings and basic animal care.

Attention to detail is crucial for maintaining accuracy in tasks such as data entry and animal welfare. Additionally, a proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment will ensure success in meeting deadlines and achieving team goals. Adaptability and a willingness to learn new skills are also key, as they contribute to maintaining high standards of performance and customer satisfaction.
Minimum Qualifications:
Applicants should be enrolled as a UA student in a minimum of 6 credits with a minimum GPA of 2.0 or higher.

This position is located on the Troth Yeddha' campus in Fairbanks Alaska.
