The successful candidate will ensure the continued effective operation of athletic programs, promote student participation and achievement, and maintain a safe and positive environment for student-athletes.QualificationsPrevious experience serving as an Athletic Director is required.Valid New Jersey Supervisor Certificate or Standard Principal Certificate.Thorough knowledge of NJSIAA regulations, student eligibility requirements, and athletic program operations.Demonstrated ability to independently manage and supervise an interscholastic athletic program.Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.Ability to work collaboratively with administrators, coaches, student-athletes, families, and community members.Essential ResponsibilitiesAthletic Program AdministrationOversee the daily operations of the district's interscholastic athletic programs.Coordinate athletic contests, practice schedules, transportation, officials, and facility usage.Ensure compliance with NJSIAA regulations, district policies, and applicable state requirements.Verify student-athlete eligibility, including academic requirements, medical clearances, and parental permissions.Maintain accurate athletic records, schedules, and required documentation.Athletic Operations and SafetyOversee home athletic events, including appropriate supervision, security, officials, and medical coverage.Ensure compliance with athletic safety procedures, emergency protocols, and district requirements.Collaborate with the athletic trainer to support student-athlete health and safety.Coordinate the maintenance, inventory, and appropriate use of athletic equipment, uniforms, and facilities.Oversee athletic ticket sales, fundraising activities, and related financial procedures in coordination with the Business Office.Personnel and CommunicationSupervise and evaluate athletic coaches and support personnel, providing guidance and feedback as appropriate.Assist with coaching assignments and staffing recommendations as needed.Attend athletic events and seasonal coaching meetings as needed.Maintain effective communication with school administrators, coaches, student-athletes, families, and the school community.Address athletic program concerns and support positive relationships among students, staff, and families.Program ContinuityMaintain effective operation of the athletic program throughout the interim appointment.Manage athletic expenditures within the established budget.Support an organized transition and continuity of athletic operations at the conclusion of the appointment.Application ProcessInterested candidates should submit a letter of interest, résumé, and applicable New Jersey administrative certification through the district's application process.Application Deadline: Open until filled.SALARY RANGE $75,000-85,000Appointment is subject to approval by the Bound Brook Board of Education.The Bound Brook School District is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
