Anticipated Technology Support Specialist - Level I

This Technician role supports daily equipment operation, inspection, troubleshooting, and maintenance in a professional work environment in South Plainfield, NJ. The position works closely with team members to keep systems running safely and efficiently, complete service tasks accurately, document findings, and help resolve technical issues while following established procedures and workplace safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

Ø Assists in evaluating existing technology as well as planned technology changes; recommends changes as appropriate.

Ø Cooperates with the Chief Technology Officer in the implementation of district wide information systems and provide technical assistance, as needed.

Assist overseeing the district's inventory of technology-based equipment and an accurate log of equipment maintenance activities as well as user assignments.

Ø Oversees and implements network changes and notify CTO of any changes impacting district operations

Ø Maintain, troubleshoot, and log all network activity; including the wide area network.

Ø Responsible for continual updating of district operating systems, district applications, 3rd party applications and networking equipment.

Ø Assist in maintaining and monitoring district web pages and online presences.

Ø Assist the CTO in troubleshooting of security logs, and notifications.

Ø Provide staff training when directed.

Ø Evaluates existing procedures and recommends improvements.

Ø Analyzes, investigates, and advises the CTO regarding purchase or leasing of suitable equipment.

Ø Monitors the analytics of the Help Desk and provides suggestions to increase efficiency and raise the level of support.

Ø Coordinates with district technicians within the Help Desk platform to ensure tasks are being completed in a timely manner and coordinating part requests if needed.

Ø Other tasks as assigned by the Chief Technology Officer.

Other Requirements:

• Graduation from a certified or accredited college
• Formal training or relevant experience with Computer Technology, Networking, and Information Systems
• Broad knowledge of instructional technology equipment and applications to include Microsoft applications, on-line services, and technology resources.
