APG Mechanic

PGS Worldwide is seeking an F-16 APG Aircraft Mechanic in Greenville, SC for a one-year onsite contract-to-hire role supporting a leading aerospace & defense company.

The F-16 APG Aircraft Mechanic will inspect, troubleshoot, repair, overhaul, and modify aircraft systems and powerplants in a production hangar environment. This role requires knowledge of F-16 aircraft systems, landing gear, powerplants, flight controls, rigging, and aircraft movement.

Required Skills

• Bachelor’s degree with 0–2 years of relevant experience.
• Aircraft inspection, troubleshooting, repair, overhaul, or modification experience.
• Knowledge of aircraft systems operation and maintenance.
• Experience working with aircraft landing gear.
• Powerplant maintenance experience.
• Knowledge of aircraft flight controls and rigging.
• Experience supporting aircraft movement activities.
• Ability to understand safety rules, operating instructions, maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to work safely on and around aircraft.
• Ability to properly use, handle, and dispose of hazardous materials and chemicals according to applicable procedures.
• Ability to frequently stand, walk, stoop, kneel, squat, crawl, twist, and work inside or on aircraft.
• Ability to perform repetitive movements and overhead work.
• Ability to frequently lift, push, or pull up to 25 lbs. and occasionally lift, push, or pull up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to wear required personal protective equipment.
• Ability to maintain a clean and FOD-free work area.
• Ability to work any assigned shift.

What You’ll Do

• Inspect aircraft systems, components, and powerplants.
• Troubleshoot and repair aircraft mechanical discrepancies.
• Overhaul and modify aircraft systems according to established procedures and specifications.
• Perform maintenance on landing gear, powerplants, flight controls, and rigging systems.
• Support aircraft movement within the production environment.
• Work from maintenance instructions, procedures, and technical standards.
• Use required tools and personal protective equipment safely.
• Handle hazardous materials according to government regulations and company procedures.
• Maintain clean, organized, and FOD-free work areas.
• Perform additional mission-essential aircraft maintenance duties as assigned.

Work Schedule / Shift

• Training will be completed on 1st shift.
• Must be available for assignment to 1st, 2nd, or weekend shift.
• 1st shift: Monday–Thursday, 6:00 AM–4:30 PM.
• 2nd shift: Monday–Thursday, 4:30 PM–3:00 AM.
• Possible weekend shift: Thursday–Sunday, 6:00 AM–4:30 PM.

Pay

• $34.00–$38.00 per hour
