We are looking for an experienced US Application Consultant with strong hands-on expertise in API Gateway platforms and API Management. The ideal candidate should have experience with Kong, Apigee, Azure API Management, MuleSoft API Gateway, AWS API Gateway, or NGINX Gateway. The candidate should be proficient in REST API design, OpenAPI/Swagger, API lifecycle management, API security, gateway policy configuration, traffic management, and API onboarding. Experience with GraphQL, developer portal management, API monetization, and enterprise application integration will be an added advantage.
Required Skills:
Strong hands-on experience with API Gateway platforms such as Kong, Apigee, Azure API Management, MuleSoft API Gateway, AWS API Gateway, or NGINX Gateway.
Experience in REST API design, development, implementation, and maintenance.
Strong knowledge of OpenAPI Specification (OAS) and Swagger documentation.
Experience with API lifecycle management, including API publishing, maintenance, and retirement.
Knowledge of API versioning strategies and backward compatibility.
Experience configuring API gateway policies and routing requests to backend services.
Strong understanding of API security enforcement, authentication, authorization, and access controls.
Experience with API throttling, rate limiting, and traffic management.
Experience publishing and managing companion APIs.
Knowledge of API onboarding, consumer registration, and access management.
Experience with developer portal management and API documentation.
Understanding of enterprise application integration and backend service connectivity.
Ability to troubleshoot API connectivity, gateway configuration, routing, and integration issues.
Experience with API governance, scalability, performance optimization, and security best practices.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
Nice-to-Have Skills:
Experience with GraphQL API development and management.
Knowledge of API monetization and subscription management.
Experience with cloud-based API management platforms.
Familiarity with microservices architecture and enterprise integration patterns.
Experience with API analytics, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
