Assistant Project Manager | Federal & Government Projects, DC Metro

As an Assistant Project Manager, you will support the successful planning, execution, and delivery of large-scale government and secure facility construction projects. Working alongside senior project leaders, you will help manage project schedules, budgets, documentation, subcontractor coordination, and client communication throughout the project lifecycle.

The APM | Federal & Government Projects, DC Metro will:

  • Assist with the day-to-day management of federal, government, and SCIF construction projects.
  • Support project scheduling, budgeting, procurement, and document control activities.
  • Coordinate with subcontractors, vendors, clients, and internal project teams.
  • Monitor project progress and help ensure timelines and quality standards are achieved.
  • Participate in project meetings and maintain accurate project reporting.
  • Review contracts, change orders, RFIs, submittals, and project documentation.
  • Assist in managing project compliance requirements and security-related protocols.
  • Work closely with Project Executives and Project Managers to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Support projects ranging from approximately $5M to $70M in value.
  • Maintain strong communication between field operations and office leadership.

The APM | Federal & Government Projects, DC Metro will have:

  • 2-5 years of construction project management or assistant project management experience.
  • Experience supporting government, federal, military, or SCIF construction projects preferred.
  • Exposure to projects valued at $5M+ construction projects.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with Procore, Primavera P6, or similar construction management software is highly preferred.
  • Ability to work onsite in the Washington, DC / Columbia, MD market.
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
  • Ability to successfully complete an extensive background check and provide professional references.
