Position Summary
The Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP) or Neonatal Physician Assistant (PA) provides comprehensive, evidence-based clinical care to neonates in The Valley Hospital Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. In addition, the APP may provide clinical support to the newborn Nursery and attend routine newborn deliveries as needed. In alignment with Valley Health System's mission, values, and commitment to excellence in patient- and family-centered care, the NNP/PA collaborates with neonatologists and the interdisciplinary care team to optimize clinical outcomes, safety, and the family experience.
Education
Neonatal Nurse Practitioner Master's or Doctoral degree from an accredited Neonatal Nurse Practitioner program
Current New Jersey Registered Nurse and Advanced Practice Nurse licensure
National certification as a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NCC or equivalent)
Current Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification Neonatal
OR
Physician Assistant Master's degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program
Current New Jersey Physician Assistant licensure
NCCPA certification
Neonatal or critical care experience strongly preferred
Current Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
