Job Description
Our Client, a Health Insurance company, is looking for an Application Developer III – Java & SQL for their Detroit, MI /Hybrid location.

- Strong hands-on development experience with Java, including modern Java versions and features.
- Strong experience with Spring Boot and the Spring ecosystem.
- Hands-on experience developing and maintaining Spring Batch applications and batch-processing solutions.
- Advanced knowledge of SQL, including:
- Complex queries
- Joins and subqueries
- Query optimization and performance tuning
- Developing, maintaining, and troubleshooting SQL stored procedures.
- Experience designing and developing REST APIs and backend services.
- Strong understanding of object-oriented programming, design patterns, coding standards, and application architecture.
- Experience with source-control and modern development practices, preferably Git/GitHub.
- Hands-on experience using AI coding assistants, such as GitHub Copilot or similar tools, for code generation, refactoring, testing, troubleshooting, and developer productivity.
- Experience with unit testing, debugging, code reviews, and application troubleshooting.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated deployments.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum development environments.
