MUST:
Experienced Application Developer/Python/AWS
7+ years of software development experience utilizing SDLC and Agile methodologies
Strong production-level Python development experience using Python 3.9+ and modern frameworks and testing libraries
Strong hands-on AWS cloud application development experience
Strong hands-on experience with AWS CDK for Infrastructure-as-Code and multi-environment deployments
Experience developing Python-based microservices
Experience developing serverless applications using AWS Lambda
Strong hands-on experience designing and implementing complex workflows using AWS Step Functions
Experience designing and developing RESTful APIs, including API versioning, error handling, and integration
Experience with AWS API Gateway
Experience developing CI/CD pipelines for cloud-based applications
Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code using CDK and Terraform
Experience with DynamoDB and S3
Experience with CloudWatch and CloudTrail for application logging, monitoring, diagnostics, and audit trails
Experience with AWS messaging and event-driven services including SNS, SQS, and EventBridge
Experience developing and deploying containerized applications using Docker
Strong Git and GitLab experience including branching strategies, merge requests, code reviews, and version control workflows
Experience writing unit and integration tests
Experience performing code reviews focused on maintainability, performance, security, and development best practices
Experience troubleshooting, debugging, and remediating application code
Experience contributing to application and cloud architecture decisions
Experience translating business requirements into technical solutions
Experience developing and maintaining technical documentation
Experience with Angular and/or React using TypeScript preferred
Experience with AWS Athena, Glue, and Load Balancers preferred
Experience using AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code or similar tools preferred
Ability to critically review, validate, and modify AI-generated code preferred
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related technical discipline required; equivalent professional experience may be considered
DUTIES:
Develop and maintain production-grade Python applications and microservices
Develop and maintain AWS cloud infrastructure using AWS CDK
Design and implement Infrastructure-as-Code supporting repeatable multi-environment cloud deployments
Design and implement complex business workflows using AWS Step Functions
Develop serverless applications and services using AWS Lambda
Design, develop, maintain, and integrate RESTful APIs
Develop containerized applications using Docker
Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines supporting cloud application deployments
Develop and maintain AWS services including DynamoDB, S3, API Gateway, SNS, SQS, and EventBridge
Implement application and infrastructure logging, monitoring, diagnostics, and audit trails using CloudWatch and CloudTrail
Utilize Terraform and AWS CDK to automate cloud infrastructure provisioning and configuration
Write and maintain unit tests and integration tests
Perform code remediation, debugging, troubleshooting, and performance optimization
Conduct peer code reviews focused on maintainability, performance, quality, and development best practices
Utilize Git and GitLab workflows for source control, branching, merge requests, and code reviews
Contribute to application, integration, and cloud architecture decisions
Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions
Develop and maintain application architecture, development, and operational documentation
Support frontend development utilizing Angular or React and TypeScript as required
Support AWS Athena, Glue, and Load Balancer technologies as required
Utilize AI-assisted development tools to support code reviews, optimization, documentation, debugging, troubleshooting, and test development as appropriate
Critically evaluate, test, and modify AI-generated code prior to implementation
Collaborate with developers, architects, business stakeholders, and technical teams throughout the software development lifecycle
