Application Programmer - Jersey City, NJ - Contract - $68-73 Per HR
We are seeking an experienced engineer to design, build, and scale advanced software extensions supporting complex developer workflows. This remote contract position requires strong problem-solving skills and the ability to influence technical direction. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with developer tools and IDE extensions.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop scalable software extensions for developer workflows.
- Collaborate with teams to influence technical direction and improve developer experience.
- Maintain and update extensions, ensuring alignment with enterprise standards.
- Integrate with custom source control systems and virtual file systems.
- Optimize performance within IDE environments.
Qualifications
- 8–10 years of software engineering experience.
- Proven track record in delivering production-grade developer tools.
- Expertise in extension development, including publishing and versioning.
- Strong programming proficiency in multiple languages.
- Solid understanding of software architecture and internals.
