Applications System Developer

Payrate: $25.00 - $28.00/hr.
 
Summary:
The primary responsibility is to maintain and develop business applications for the Company, including upgrades, development of apps, reports, and interfaces, user support, and application testing activities.
 
Responsibilities

• Maintain various applications, including upgrades, patch maintenance, and other related activities.
• Develop and maintain applications and interfaces to support city departments’ initiatives.
• Gather business requirements and document specifications for application development, reports, and interfaces.
• Implement and enforce processes for application migration, testing, and support maintenance.
• Provide production support for business applications, technical environments, and interfacing systems.
• Prioritize and assign target completion dates for fixes and change orders in collaboration with users and team members.
• Follow existing business processes and operational guidelines for supporting application users, vendors, and maintenance activities.
• Collaborate with various account groups, such as the Network Team, Hosting Team, and Workplace Services Team, to deliver quality services.
• Coordinate with city staff and software vendors for business application support and issue resolution.
• Support the city’s 24x7 business operations and be available onsite during business hours.

 
Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering.
• At least one year of work experience (internship or school work considered) as an applications developer using C#, .NET, Java, or any object-oriented programming language.
• At least one year of hands-on coding experience in SQL (internship or school work considered).
• Good problem-solving, troubleshooting/issue resolution, and organizational skills.
• Knowledgeable with relational and/or open-source databases.
• Ability to multi-task and provide off-hours support for production-related business applications issues/incidents.
• Excellent verbal communication, interpersonal, and documentation skills.
• Ability to learn quickly and adapt to a multi-platform technical environment.

 
Skills

• Exposure or experience with any reporting tool such as PowerBI, Crystal Reports, Cognos, etc.

 
Pay Transparency: The typical base pay for this role across the U.S. is: $25.00 - $28.00 /hour. Non-exempt positions are eligible for overtime at a rate of 1.5 times the base hourly rate for all hours worked in excess of 40 in a work week, or as required by state or local law. Final offer amounts, within the base pay set forth above, are determined by factors including your relevant skills, education and experience. Full-time employees are eligible to select from different benefits packages.
