The Department of Sociology at Stanford University seeks applicants for a faculty appointment in an open area of sociology at the rank of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor. Applicants must have demonstrated a commitment to effective teaching and mentoring and the ability to develop and maintain a world-class research program. The successful candidate must have a Ph.D. in sociology or a related field and will be expected to teach and advise students at both the graduate and undergraduate levels. The term of appointment is expected to begin on September 1, 2027.

The salary ranges for this position are as follows:

The pay offered to the selected candidate will be determined based on factors including (but not limited to) the qualifications of the selected candidate, budget availability, and internal equity.
