Position OverviewProvide high quality aquatics-based opportunities for all guests while fostering an environment of fun and creating memories that will last a lifetime.Key ResponsibilitiesLead department staff, including admin items such as scheduling and trainingTeach aquatics-based merit badges a lessonsPresent in front of group sizes of 2-24 youth and transfer knowledgeTurn in advancement paperwork to supervisor in a timely mannerAssist with the set-up, maintenance, and take down of program areasModel the Scout Oath and Law in daily interactionsMaintain a clean, organized, inspected, neat, and safe work areaPerform additional duties assigned by SBR leadershipAbide by policies and procedures outlined in the SBR staff handbookQualificationsMinimum age: 21+Current Red Cross Lifeguard instructor certification or ability to obtain before the start of the seasonCurrent NCS Aquatics Director card or ability to obtain before the start of the seasonRequired 2+ yr. leading teams, prefer 2+ Summit employmentWilling to become a registered Scouting America member (includes background screening)Comfortable using Microsoft Teams for daily work-related communicationPhysical & Practical RequirementsAbility to stand, walk, swim, and paddle up to 8 hours daily and ability to lift/move up to 50 poundsComplete the Annual Health and Medical Record, including height/weight guidelinesHousing: 10'x12' platform tent in Staff Camp | Uniform: Summit Staff Uniform | Work Hours: 45-55Desired TraitsHigh emotional intelligence (such as self/social awareness and team dynamics)Positive and cheerful attitude with a strong customer-service focusAdaptability in a fast-paced environment with ability to learn/develop hard and soft skillsAbility to connect with individuals from diverse age groups, maturity, and backgrounds
