UVP has an opening for a Regional AR Manager. We are looking for a proven leader with a minimum of five years of ophthalmology billing experience. This position is fully remote. SUMMARY The Regional Accounts Receivable Manager is responsible for overseeing AR operations across multiple locations, ensuring timely collections, accuracy in billing, and optimization of revenue cycle performance. This role partners closely with leadership, RCM departments, and technology teams to improve cash flow, leverage AI-driven tools, reduce aging, and drive operational efficiency. Starting pay is $60,000-$80,000/year. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES - Lead and manage AR operations across assigned regions, including collections, follow-up, and denial management
- Monitor and analyze AR performance metrics (aging, cash collections, DSO, denial trends) and implement improvement strategies
- Ensure timely and accurate resolution of outstanding accounts, including payer and patient balances
- Collaborate closely with RCM departments (front-end, coding, billing, and patient access) to identify and resolve revenue cycle gaps
- Partner with IT and vendors to implement and optimize AI and automation tools that enhance AR workflows, prioritization, and collections performance
- Provide insights into trends impacting collections such as payer delays, denial patterns, and patient responsibility
- Oversee escalated accounts and support resolution of complex payer issues
- Drive process improvements to enhance efficiency, reduce AR days, and improve cash flow
- Ensure compliance with payer requirements, state regulations, and organizational policies
- Lead, develop, and mentor the AR team, including setting performance expectations, coaching staff, managing productivity, and fostering accountability and performance excellence
- Partner with leadership to support strategic initiatives, reporting needs, and financial goals
QUALIFICATIONS - Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Finance, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 5+ years of revenue cycle or accounts receivable experience in ophthalmology billing.
- 2+ years of leadership or management experience
- Strong understanding of billing, collections, payer processes, and denial management
- Experience working with multiple sites or regional operations preferred
SKILLS & COMPETENCIES - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to interpret AR data and translate into actionable strategies
- Experience with AI-enabled revenue cycle tools, automation, and workflow optimization preferred
- Effective communication and stakeholder management across departments
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple initiatives in a fast-paced environment
- Proficient in revenue cycle systems and Microsoft Office tools
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE - Experience with multi-site healthcare organizations
- Knowledge of state-specific collection regulations (e.g., MN guidelines if applicable)
- Familiarity with EMR/PM systems, analytics platforms, and AI-driven revenue cycle tools
