About the Role

As a key leader at Galloway, you'll own the full project lifecycle, from shaping bold design concepts and guiding construction documents to building lasting client relationships and driving new business growth. You will help lead retail and commercial projects through all phases of work, from early design and project planning through construction administration. This role requires strong communication, steady project ownership, and the ability to coordinate clients, consultants, internal teams, schedules, budgets, and deliverables.

You will manage projects, support client relationships, guide production teams, and coordinate across disciplines using Galloway’s Full-Spectrum Approach. This role is a good fit for someone who enjoys fast-paced project work, understands the importance of strong documentation and follow-through. Responsibilities

  • Assists in managing Architecture team members and assists in managing project deliverables and schedules.
  • Assists in development conceptual, schematic design development and construction document design packages.
  • Develops, modifies and reviews construction documents.
  • Coordinates with and advises client throughout the Design and Construction phase of the project.
  • Coordinate technical and administrative project activities with internal disciplines and external consultants.
  • Provide direction and mentorship to designers, job captains, and production staff.
  • Researches and specifies building materials, systems, and products.
  • Research codes and verifies code compliance.
  • Provides Architecture Department construction contract administration.
  • Oversees and assists the management of the construction administration phase.
  • Performs shop drawing and submittal reviews.
  • Directs construction administration activities on projects.
  • Monitors project for construction document compliance.
  • Take an active role in strengthening client relationships through responsive communication, quality work, and reliable follow-through.
  • Support business development efforts by helping maintain existing client relationships and identifying future project opportunities.
  • Takes an active role in new business development; markets Galloway’s capabilities to establish new clients and enhance relationships with existing clients.

Qualification

  • Bachelors in Architecture or Environmental Design, or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience in retail, commercial, grocery, tenant improvement, rollout, or similar project types preferred.
  • Typically, 8-10 years of experience in the Architecture field
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to build client trust, manage expectations, and support repeat client relationships.
  • Experience managing architectural projects from schematic design through construction administration.
  • In depth understanding of building systems and design, as well as the construction projects, schedules, and budgets.
  • Knowledge of codes, standards, and permitting and certification processes for building design projects.
  • Can review construction pay applications, change orders, requests for information, and other construction-related documentation.
  • Ability to coordinate technical and administrative project activities with internal disciplines, external consultants, clients, contractors, and municipalities.
  • Mentoring and training less tenured staff.
  • Possesses detailed knowledge in various agencies and disciplines involved in the construction process; integrates and coordinates all parties for successful completion of construction projects.
  • Is proficient in Revit, AutoCAD, Adobe Acrobat, Adobe Reader, Adobe Photoshop, Google SketchUp, COMcheck-EZ, and Microsoft Project.
