Area Director of Operations

At NSR Hotels, we believe great hotels start with great leadership! We're looking for an exceptional Area Director of Operations to help lead our growing portfolio, develop outstanding General Managers, and drive the operational and financial performance that will shape our future.

Reporting directly to the Vice President of Administration & Operations, you'll serve as the primary leader and trusted partner to our hotel General Managers, connecting corporate strategy with property-level execution. You'll have a direct impact on financial performance, operational excellence, guest satisfaction, and leadership development across the portfolio.

This is an opportunity to do more than oversee hotel operations. You'll help strengthen our business, build high-performing teams, implement company-wide initiatives, and establish the operational foundation for continued growth. As NSR Hotels expands, this role offers the opportunity to grow in scope and responsibility alongside the company.

What You'll Do

Drive Performance & Profitability

• Own overall portfolio performance, including financial results, revenue generation, sales effectiveness, operating efficiency, and guest satisfaction.
• Partner with General Managers on budgets, forecasts, business plans, and strategies to improve profitability and market performance.
• Monitor key performance indicators, identify opportunities, and hold property leadership accountable for results.

Lead & Develop General Managers

• Serve as the primary point of contact, coach, and strategic partner for hotel General Managers.
• Build leadership capability through regular coaching, feedback, performance management, and professional development.
• Foster accountability, collaboration, and a culture of continuous improvement across the portfolio.

Champion Operational Excellence

• Ensure consistent execution of brand standards, company policies, franchise requirements, and applicable regulations.
• Monitor service quality, property conditions, guest feedback, and compliance, driving corrective action where needed.
• Implement company initiatives and operating practices that improve consistency, efficiency, and results.

Connect Strategy & Execution

• Act as the key liaison between property leadership and corporate and executive teams.
• Translate company priorities into actionable plans while communicating property performance, challenges, and opportunities to senior leadership.
• Identify process improvements and scalable practices that support the addition of future properties.

What We're Looking For

• Progressive hotel operations leadership experience as an Area General Manager, Regional Director, Director of Operations, or similar.
• Demonstrated success leading, coaching, and developing multiple hotel leaders.
• Strong financial acumen, including P&L management, budgeting, forecasting, labor optimization, and profitability improvement.
• Working knowledge of hotel revenue strategy, sales, guest satisfaction, brand standards, and operational compliance.
• Excellent communication, analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• A strategic, hands-on leadership style with the ability to balance business objectives, people development, and operational details.
• Ability to travel regularly between properties in Colorado and Washington is required.
• Experience with branded select-service or extended-stay hotels is strongly preferred. Experience with Hilton, Marriott, IHG, Hyatt, Choice Hotels, or similar brands is a plus.

You'll build stronger financial results, develop confident and accountable General Managers, improve guest experiences, and ensure consistent execution across the portfolio. Just as importantly, you'll help create the leadership capabilities, operating practices, and organizational foundation needed to support NSR Hotels' continued growth.

We're looking for a leader who can elevate today's operations while helping prepare our organization for tomorrow's opportunities! If you're a dedicated hospitality leader who knows how to develop great people, drive measurable business results, and build operations that are ready for growth, we'd like to hear from you.
