Area Manager

Agility Recruiting is partnering with an established heavy civil construction company seeking an experienced Area Manager to oversee complex, high-value construction projects throughout the Bay Area.

This is an excellent opportunity for a proven construction leader who thrives on managing large-scale projects, developing talented teams, and driving operational and financial performance.

What You'll Do

• Oversee multiple heavy civil construction projects or a single large-scale project.

• Lead and mentor Project Managers, Superintendents, and field teams.

• Drive project profitability, scheduling, safety, quality, and operational excellence.

• Manage budgets, forecasts, contracts, change orders, and project risks.

• Collaborate with estimating and executive leadership on project strategy and new opportunities.

• Build strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and project stakeholders.

What We're Looking For

• 15+ years of heavy civil construction experience, with increasing responsibility.

• 10+ years of construction team leadership experience.

• Proven success managing multiple complex projects or major construction programs.

• Strong understanding of construction operations, financial management, contracts, and risk mitigation.

• Experience with Caltrans projects strongly preferred.

• Knowledge of union and prevailing wage requirements.

• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.

• Bachelor's degree or relevant professional certifications are a plus.

Work Location

This is a 100% on-site position based in the Concord / East Bay area. Remote and hybrid arrangements are not available. Local travel to project sites is required.
