Armed Security Guard-Transit Facilities

Job Summary

Sentry Force Security is seeking professional, dependable, and qualified Armed Security Officers to provide security services at public transportation facilities throughout Hampton Roads, Virginia. Officers will be responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for employees, passengers, visitors, and property. The ideal candidate will have strong observation skills, sound judgment, and the ability to respond professionally to security concerns in a public-facing environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Conduct routine foot patrols of assigned facilities, platforms, entrances, parking areas, and other designated locations.

• Maintain a visible security presence to deter criminal activity, trespassing, vandalism, and unauthorized access.

• Monitor assigned areas for suspicious behavior, safety hazards, and potential security threats.

• Respond promptly and professionally to disturbances, emergencies, and requests for assistance.

• Assist passengers, employees, and visitors while maintaining a professional and courteous demeanor.

• Communicate security concerns and incidents to supervisors and appropriate authorities when necessary.

• Complete accurate daily activity logs, incident reports, and other required documentation.

• Follow site-specific post orders, company policies, emergency procedures, and applicable use-of-force guidelines.

• Maintain assigned uniforms, equipment, and firearms in accordance with company policies and applicable regulations.

Minimum Qualifications

• Valid Virginia DCJS armed security registration.

• Must meet all applicable firearms training and qualification requirements.

• Previous armed security experience preferred.

• Strong communication, observation, and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to remain calm and exercise sound judgment in stressful situations.

• Professional appearance, integrity, and dependable attendance.

• Ability to follow instructions, complete reports, and work independently or as part of a team.

• Must successfully complete required background screening and any additional assignment-specific requirements.

Schedule and Availability

Candidates must be available to work assigned shifts based on operational needs. Schedules may include mornings, evenings, overnight shifts, weekends, and holidays. Flexibility and punctuality are essential.
