Description
Description
THE PURPOSE: The Art Director, Studio & Editorial owns the visual standard of everything True Religion photographs. This role drives the day-to-day creative execution of all PDP photography while leading art direction for editorial campaigns, capsule collections, and special projects from concept through delivery. It demands a sharp commercial eye, strong editorial instincts, and the on-set presence to keep a high-volume studio producing imagery that earns its place on every brand channel. This is where creative vision and production reality meet - and this role makes both work.
THE ROLE (what you are accountable for):
Lead art direction of all PDP photography across Women's, Men's, Curve, Accessories, Footwear, and Denim - directing posing, composition, framing, lighting, and image quality on set every day
Develop and continuously evolve visual standards and creative guidelines for product photography, identifying opportunities to raise the bar for the customer shopping experience
Partner with the Creative Director to develop seasonal campaigns and editorial concepts, including mood boards, shoot treatments, casting direction, and creative presentations
Serve as the primary Art Director for capsule collections, collaborations, social content, and select editorial productions - from initial brief through final asset delivery
Create and maintain Capture One sessions, manage file and folder structure, and support digital capture workflows to keep daily studio operations running efficiently
Review image selects and provide creative feedback throughout the retouching process, ensuring final assets meet brand standards for color, consistency, and quality
Research fashion, photography, and cultural trends to bring fresh perspective and innovative direction to the brand's visual identity
Collaborate closely with Photography, Styling, Production, Merchandising, Marketing, and Retouching across every production
YOU ARE: A visually driven Art Director with a commercial instinct and genuine editorial range. You are fluent in the language of fashion photography and know how to get the best out of a photographer, stylist, and on-set crew. You can move between directing a high-volume PDP day and developing a seasonal editorial concept without losing your creative perspective - and you bring the organizational discipline to make sure every production is as efficient as it is excellent.
REQUIRED MINIMUM EXPERIENCE
5-8 years of art direction experience in fashion, apparel, or lifestyle brands
Proven track record leading high-volume e-commerce photography productions
Expert understanding of photography, lighting, composition, styling, posing, and image selection
Experience providing on-set creative direction to photographers, stylists, hair and makeup artists, and models
Working knowledge of Capture One, including session setup, file organization, and basic digital capture workflows
Strong organizational and project management skills in a fast-paced studio environment
Excellent communication, presentation, and cross-functional collaboration skills
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
Experience developing seasonal editorial campaigns and brand storytelling
Background in capsule collections, collaborations, or multi-platform content production
Passion for fashion, streetwear culture, and visual innovation
