Position Summary:

The Art Model will work for an entire class session, whether for approximately two hours (in the case of a class meeting twice a week) or for approximately four hours (in the case of the class meeting once a week). Most modeling is in the nude and involves a variety of poses sustained over varying periods of time. Skills required include the ability to hold poses requested by the Art instructor over specified periods of time (short gestural or action poses, longer poses for more detailed studies of the figure, etc.).

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

These duties are intended only as examples of the various types of job duties to be performed. The omission of the specific duties does not exclude them from the position if the work is a similar, related, or logical assignment to the position.

The following are the functions essential to performing this job:

1. Pose for the arts studio classes, both 2d and 3d courses.

2. Ability to provide a full range of traditional life drawing poses, from gestural to sustained poses, as required by tradition and the instructor.

3. Demonstrate the flexibility and animation of the human form.

4. Provide traditional gestures and poses as well as anatomical studies.

5. Provide poses which are fully clothed to fully nude, as required by the instructor.

Required Minimum Qualifications

1. Eighteen years of age or older

2. High School Diploma or GED

3. Prior successful employment or equivalent documented experience

Desired Qualifications

1. Previous artist's model, yoga, dance, or theater experience

2. Experience demonstrating anatomy or gesture in a work of art

3. Ability to physically provide a full range of body gestures and poses, from quick to

sustained poses

4. Ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse

community

Work Schedule

Monday and Wednesday, 3:15 PM - 5:15 PM and or Thursday, 5:30 to 9:30 PM
