    Description

    Vara Chevrolet is looking for a Transmission Technician Specialist to join our service team. The right candidate will have a strong service technician background.

    Qualifications 

    •  ASE Certified with a minimum of 5 years of experience
    • Knowledge in all or most aspects of major automotive repair
    • Ability to or willing to learn to operate electronic diagnostic equipment
    • Dexterity, requiring a steady hand, excellent hand-eye coordination
    • Mechanical and troubleshooting skills and ability to operate electronic diagnostic equipment
    • Ability to learn new technology, repair and service procedures and specifications
    • Clean driving record & valid non-suspended driver’s license
    • Background check and drug screen

    Responsibilities

    • Perform work specified on the repair order with efficiency and in accordance with dealership
    • Test-drive vehicles, and test components and systems, using diagnostic tools and special service equipment
    • Diagnose, maintain, and repair vehicle automotive systems including engine, transmission, electrical steering, suspension, brakes, air conditioning, etc.
    • Must have the ability to disassemble, troubleshoot and reassemble a transmission.  The ability to simply remove and replace a transmission is not sufficient to be considered for this position
    • Communicate daily with the Service Advisor and keep them informed of the status of the job 
    • Execute repairs under warranty to manufacturer specifications
    • Maintain a neat and organized work stall
    • Thorough documentation on all paperwork is mandatory
