Job Title: Assembler B Location: Irvine, CA Duration: 6 Month contract Shift: 2nd Shift 2:30-10PM Pay: 22/hour Overtime: Ongoing overtime opportunities available. Training on 1st shift
Safety Shoes Required: Must be worn on the first day. Composite-toe or steel-toe safety shoes are acceptable.
Position Summary: Accurately and efficiently assemble and test products to meet customer quality standards and on-time delivery schedules. May perform lockwiring, first-stage subassembly, and final detailing functions on routine assignments requiring limited judgment. Actively contributes to lean initiatives that increase productivity and reduce costs while working under direct supervisory guidance.
Essential Functions:
Perform basic assembly and testing functions using mechanical skills, hand and power tools, mechanical/electronic tools, test equipment, assembly fixtures, and inspection measuring equipment in a manufacturing environment.
Record test results on data forms using basic electrical equipment and flow meters.
Interpret blueprints, engineering orders, assembly routes, test specifications, service bulletins, customer requirements, and quality directives.
Produce and inspect assemblies that conform to product specifications and customer/industry standards.
Perform touch-up or full-surface painting of parts using finishing materials such as paint, lacquer, and glaze. Mix paint and clean parts as needed.
Participate in lean initiatives by identifying and suggesting process improvements.
Follow all safety regulations and maintain a Foreign Object Damage (FOD)-free work area.
Ensure all equipment is calibrated according to the calibration schedule.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
1 year plus of general mechanical work experience.
Ability to apply product and process knowledge to newly learned techniques.
Ability to select appropriate procedures, techniques, tools, and equipment.
Ability to read and understand blueprints, route sheets, and test specifications.
Basic math, computer, verbal, and written communication skills.
Strong mechanical aptitude and reasoning skills.
Ability to implement and support lean initiatives.
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Ability to use employee self-service systems and specialized automated systems (e.g., PMR, TORS, e-mail).
