Assembler / Filter Assembly Technician

Shift: 2nd and 3rd Shift
Pay Increases: Performance-based incremental raises are available.

Position Summary

We are seeking dependable and detail-oriented Assemblers to assemble filter products and components according to manufacturing specifications. This position involves using hand tools, power tools, presses, and other equipment to assemble, inspect, test, and repair filter products while maintaining quality and safety standards.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Assemble filter products and components according to work instructions, work orders, drawings, and manufacturing specifications.

• Inspect materials and finished products to ensure they meet quality standards.

• Set up and operate hydraulic and hand presses.

• Use hand tools, power tools, pneumatic equipment, drills, and adhesives to assemble and handle filter components.

• Assist with additional assembly functions, including washing, testing, cleaning, and repairing products.

• Cross-train on various tasks and responsibilities within the department.

• Use computer systems to check inventory, access drawings, review work orders, and complete job-related transactions.

• Disassemble returned filter products as needed.

• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.

• Follow all company safety procedures and maintain reliable attendance.

• Work overtime as needed to meet production demands.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred, or equivalent work experience.

• Previous assembly experience is preferred.

• Manufacturing or industrial experience is a plus.

• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow written and verbal instructions.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Willingness to learn new tasks and cross-train in different areas.

• Ability and willingness to obtain forklift certification as required.

• Experience operating an overhead crane is a plus.

Work Environment

• Work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to moving mechanical parts.

• Occasional exposure to fumes or airborne particles.

• Moderate noise levels.

• Must follow all safety procedures and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety glasses and safety shoes.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand for extended periods and walk throughout the work area.

• Frequent handling and fingering of parts and components.

• Ability to reach outward and perform repetitive assembly tasks.

• Ability to lift and carry up to 20 pounds regularly, with occasional lifting of heavier items as needed.

• Ability to push, pull, bend, squat, kneel, and reach as required by the position.

Training and Advancement

Training may last from several weeks to several months, depending on the position and the individual's progress. Employees will have the opportunity to learn different assembly tasks and develop their skills. Performance-based incremental pay raises may be available as employees gain experience, demonstrate proficiency, and meet performance expectations.
