Job Title: Assembler / Production Technician

Job Description

This role focuses on assembling and preparing wooden shipping carts used to transport large cooling systems for dairy operations in hot climates. You will work with hand and power tools, follow detailed specifications and blueprints, and ensure each shipment meets strict quality and packaging standards for international customers. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on work, takes pride in accuracy, and contributes directly to delivering high-performance equipment worldwide.

Responsibilities

• Assemble wooden shipping carts and related components according to detailed specifications and blueprints.
• Use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively to cut, fasten, and build wooden structures for shipping.
• Prepare and package large cooling system components for shipment, ensuring all parts are secure and protected.
• Follow detailed instructions and quality standards to ensure products meet exact customer requirements.
• Support shipping and receiving activities, including staging, labeling, and preparing orders for international shipment.
• Handle larger pieces and assemblies carefully to prevent damage during packaging and transport.
• Inspect finished carts and packaged products for accuracy, completeness, and structural integrity.
• Work collaboratively with team members to meet production schedules and shipping deadlines.
• Take initiative on the production floor by identifying tasks, organizing work areas, and maintaining workflow without constant direction.
• Communicate clearly with colleagues and supervisors regarding progress, issues, and suggestions for process improvements.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area, following all safety guidelines and best practices.

Essential Skills

• Previous assembly experience in a production, manufacturing, or similar hands-on environment.
• Proficiency using hand tools such as drills, wrenches, screwdrivers, and measuring tools.
• Experience using power tools safely and effectively for woodworking and assembly tasks.
• Ability to read and follow blueprints, drawings, or detailed assembly instructions.
• Experience shipping larger pieces or large equipment, including packaging and securing items for transport.
• Strong attention to detail to ensure products meet exact specifications and shipping requirements.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team and collaborate to meet production goals.
• Demonstrated self-initiative, with the ability to identify and complete tasks without waiting for direction.
• Clear and reliable communication skills for coordinating with team members and supervisors.

• Experience or interest in woodworking or carpentry-related tasks.
• Experience in shipping and receiving environments, especially with international shipments.

Work Environment

This is a full-time, on-site role in a production and assembly environment, working Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. You will work primarily with wood materials, using hand tools, power tools, and basic woodworking equipment to build shipping carts and prepare large components for transport. The work involves standing, moving materials, and handling larger pieces throughout the day. The facility focuses on accuracy and quality due to the high cost of international shipping and the need for precise packaging. You can expect a hands-on, team-oriented environment where safety, organization, and attention to detail are essential.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Mesa, AZ.

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $24.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
