Mechanical Assembly Technician — 1st Shift

Location: Auburn Hills, MI

Pay: Up to $25/hour, depending on experience

Hours: 6:00 AM–2:30 PM, with overtime as needed

We’re hiring two Mechanical Assembly Technicians to join a growing manufacturing team. This position involves assembling and testing small mechanical components used in industrial automation equipment.

If you enjoy working with your hands, following assembly drawings, and doing detailed work, this could be a great opportunity to develop your technical skills. Pneumatic assembly and product testing can be taught to someone with strong mechanical aptitude and a willingness to learn.

What You’ll Do

• Assemble small mechanical components, manifolds, valves, hose bundles, and pneumatic lines.

• Follow mechanical prints and written instructions to select and install the correct parts.

• Use hand tools and torque tools to secure components to specifications.

• Inspect parts and finished assemblies for accuracy and workmanship.

• Learn to perform pressure, leak, and flow testing using designated test equipment.

• Record assembly checks and test results.

• Work independently at your bench while collaborating with a small assembly team.

What We’re Looking For

• Hands-on mechanical ability gained through assembly, cabinet building, equipment repair, automotive work, or similar experience.

• Ability to follow detailed instructions and read—or learn to read—mechanical assembly drawings.

• Strong attention to detail and comfort working with small components.

• Willingness to learn new assembly and testing procedures.

• A dependable, cooperative approach to working with others.

• Comfort performing detailed, sometimes repetitive work at a bench.

About the Position

• Two openings due to team growth.

• Primarily bench-based work, with adjustable benches for sitting or standing.

• Movement between your assembly bench and specialized testing stations.

• Overtime may extend the workday to 3:30 or 4:30 PM.
