Job Summary
The 1st shift Assembly Technician is an entry-level position focused on building, assembling, and packaging industrial compressor equipment across various production areas. This role offers hands-on training with opportunities for skill development and cross training.
Qualifications & Skills
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- 1+ years of experience in manufacturing, construction, or mechanical trades (e.g., plumbing, electrical, carpentry, HVAC); steel or fabrication experience is a plus.
- Basic mechanical aptitude, including the ability to read blueprints, use simple math, and take accurate tape measure readings.
- Proficiency with standard hand and power tools (employee must provide basic personal tool set).
- Strong work ethic, reliable attendance, initiative, and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Physical capability to lift up to 50 lbs., reach, pull, climb, and perform labor in non-climate-controlled industrial settings.
- Willingness to work overtime and weekends as needed.
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screen.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Assemble, disassemble, and package mechanical components and compressor units for shipment.
- Operate production equipment, shop machinery, surface preparation tools, and material handling equipment (e.g., cranes, saws).
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and work orders to complete tasks.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area, including tools and equipment.
- Adhere to all safety protocols, wearing required PPE in dynamic shop environments.
- Perform additional shop duties as assigned by leadership.
