Job Description

As an assembly worker, you will utilize hand and power tools to assemble parts, read and interpret blueprints, and maintain general warehouse upkeep. You will work both independently and collaboratively with small teams to complete assembly tasks. Your role includes quality inspection checks and basic computer operations, ensuring the highest standards of product assembly and production.

Responsibilities

• Utilize hand and power tools for assembly.
• Read and interpret blueprints accurately.
• Maintain general warehouse cleanliness and organization.
• Collaborate with a team of 3-4 people for assembly tasks.
• Complete assembly tasks independently at a work station.
• Conduct quality inspection checks to ensure product standards.
• Perform basic computer operations related to assembly and production.

Essential Skills

• Ability to stand for 8 hours and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Proficiency in using hand tools.
• Capability to read, speak, and understand instructions clearly.
• Skill in blueprint reading.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Mechanically inclined.
• Experience in packaging and material handling.
• Familiarity with RF scanners.
• Knowledge of cleanroom and construction processes.

Work Environment

This role is set in a hectic and fast-paced warehouse environment with high forklift traffic. You will experience seasonal temperature variations, with hot summers and cold winters. The facility accommodates around 30 employees and is expanding. Assemblers work either independently or in small teams, focusing on products ranging from the size of a computer to 6-7 feet. The dress code includes jeans, steel-toed shoes, and protective vests.

This is a Contract position based out of Iowa City, IA.

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
