Responsibilities:
Asset Protection
- Communicate with leadership regarding encounters and investigations
- Maintain a professional relationship with local authorities and law enforcement agencies
- Collaborate with law enforcement and other local retailers to identify organized retail crime threats
- Assist leadership with cash handling and transfers
- Observe customers and associates for potential acts of theft or fraud
- Addressing external theft concerns through uniform presence with strategic methods, as well as apprehending shoplifters when appropriate, according to company policy, ethical standards, and guidelines
- Monitor video via CCTV and conduct on-site interviews
- Documenting incidents by creating objective and thorough reports in a timely manner
- Maintaining all apprehension and investigation records according to company standards
- Developing and maintaining knowledge and use of CCTV surveillance equipment
- Assisting in monitoring store compliance with company policies and procedures relating to theft deterrence, safety, and operational controls, as assigned by the supervisor
- Maintain a highly visible deterrent to crime and positively influence the security incident rate, as well as assist with inventory controls
- Ability to work night, weekend, and/or early morning hours based on business needs
Safety
- Help mitigate security risks to provide a safer environment for employees and customers
- Welcome all customers, visitors, and vendors professionally, and assist them in locating staff within the stores
- Issue electric handicapped shopping carts to customers and assist in obtaining wheelchairs and shopping carts
- Examine and properly tag property being brought into the stores, including personal property, equipment for service, and firearms
- Watch facilities and parking areas on foot. Direct traffic during special events or heavy customer traffic, while enforcing parking regulations
- Make regularly scheduled floor and exterior walks to ensure the safety and security of the customers and facility
- Complete monthly reports on safe or non-safe practices found on the sales floor or backstocks
Schedule:
Must be able to work various hours, evenings, weekends and holidays during normal business hours.
Education & Experience:
- High School Diploma/GED College graduate preferred
- Proven track record of strong communication and organization skills
- Preference for candidates with prior Loss prevention (2-3 years)
Physical Requirements/Lifting Requirements:
Must be able to sit, stand, bend at the waist, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, walk, push/pull, lift, talk, and hear with or without reasonable accommodation.
Heavy work – Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
