Position: Assistant/Associate Professor (nine-month, tenure-track) in the Department of Nutrition

and Food Sciences, College of Health Sciences, at Texas Woman''s University, Denton, Texas.

Qualifications: An earned PhD in Nutrition or a related field is required. Teaching, post-doctoral

research, and administrative experience preferred. Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) and

experience/training in the areas of exercise and sports nutrition (e.g., Board Certified Specialist

in Sports Dietetics (CSSD)) preferred. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are

required. Please note that, per state directive, TWU has placed a hold on filing new petitions for

H-1B sponsorship.

Responsibilities: With the desire to continue to maintain the reputation TWU has in Exercise and

Sports Nutrition nationally, it is a high priority to fill the position with an individual who can

build and maintain a strong research program with the ability to attract extramural funding. The

successful candidate will be expected to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in nutrition,

advise students, establish a research program, and participate in department, college, and

university committees. Instruction will focus on courses at the graduate and undergraduate levels that emphasize the interaction and balance between diet and exercise. A successful candidate will also be expected to

foster and expand off-campus practicum sites, developing and maintaining strong community and

clinical partnerships to support student experiential learning and workforce readiness.

Additionally, the successful will be able to function in a multi-disciplinary clinical setting

within the College of Health Sciences in a role that would include intern oversight.

Salary: Salary will be commensurate with credentials and experience. Support for teaching and

research during the summer months may also be available.

The Department of Nutrition and Food Sciences is interested in applicants with a desire for

teaching and research in a growing department. The department offers an undergraduate Didactic

Program in Dietetics (DPD) and a combined Master''s/dietetic internship, both accredited by the

Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND), of the Academy of Nutrition

and Dietetics. The Department offers a variety of Master of Science degrees and a doctoral degree

in Nutrition with areas of specialization that may include an emphasis in Clinical Nutrition,

Flavor Chemistry, or Food Systems Administration. For more information regarding the Department of
