Louisiana Christian University seeks a qualified candidate to serve as an Assistant/Associate Professor of Pre-Engineering. This is a full-time 9-month tenure-track teaching position to begin August 1, 2026. The position is open until filled.
Louisiana Christian University's Department of Natural Sciences / Mathematics is seeking applicants for a tenure-track position to teach Pre-Engineering coursework. The successful candidate would also be called upon to teach Mathematics. LCU is looking for a versatile instructor who can grow its Pre-Engineering program and also teach Math to students in programs such as Mathematics, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, and the natural science disciplines.
Applicants will need to demonstrate teaching competency in Engineering, specifically the entry level Engineering coursework which is modelled after the Louisiana Tech program. The position also requires that the faculty member be available for advising students and have a willingness to serve on college committees. The successful candidate will assist in curriculum planning and mapping to direct the Pre-Engineering programs and facilitate coordination with other science disciplines. Faculty development through scholarship activities including travel and research with undergraduates is strongly encouraged and funding is available through an endowment.
Louisiana Christian University has a long tradition of excellence in preparing students for graduate school and for careers in the STEM disciplines. The BS in Mathematics, Mathematics Education, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, as well as the Math and Chemistry with Pre-Engineering degrees are foundational programs for preparing graduates for a range of career directions. Applicants should demonstrate teaching competencies in coursework related to the candidate's specialty area as well as other needs in the department. Courses are delivered in face-to-face, online, and hybrid formats.
