The Athletic Department exists to develop excellence in athletes so that God is honored in all aspects of their lives and to disciple students spiritually, athletically and socially. The position of Assistant Athletic Director will develop and maintain well-balanced competitive programs involving high school, middle school and intramural teams.
The candidate shall possess characteristics that reflect:
A strong clear Christian testimony with a mature and godly spirit
A daily example of the highest Christian virtue both in and out of school
Commitment to faithful attendance and support of a church whose beliefs are in agreement with the Statement of Faith
Agreement and belief that The Bible is the final authority concerning truth, morality, and the proper conduct of mankind
The following are key responsibilities:
Communicate the schools’ vision and the athletic department’s philosophies to coaches, parents, and community
Be on site for assigned evening and weekend athletic events
Work directly with head and assistant coaches at all levels including hiring and evaluations
Help manage/oversee all other athletic personnel: site mangers, gate workers, trainers, concessions
Oversee game day preparation: concession stand, money, field prep, necessary equipment, and senior nights
Work with head coaches to develop summer camp programs
Coordinate advertising and departmental fundraising events
Assist in maintaining & evaluating all practice and game venues
Responsible for collecting, processing, and balancing all monetary transactions
Act as an "Elementary AD" by owning the responsibility of summer camps and intramurals
Develop & continue relationships with local and state athletic associations
Ensure compliance of all applicable IHSAA bylaws and rules
Work in collaboration with the Administrative Assistant to call and confirm all athletic contests, officials and other game day personnel schedules weekly
Be the representative for Christian Academy at district scheduling meetings, middle school scheduling meetings and other sport scheduling meetings as requested by the Athletic Director
Provide insight and recommendations to the Athletic Director as it relates to the scheduling of athletic fields, maintenance of athletic facilities and future expansion.
