Assistant Controller

Unity Search has partnered with a DFW-based, PE-backed distribution company in its search for an Assistant Controller. This person will work hand in hand with the VP of Accounting & the CFO to perform all accounting and reporting functions for the firm. This person must have a CPA license and demonstrate strong full cycle accounting, leadership, and transformation experience in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Key responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

• Own the general ledger end to end, including controls and oversight for journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and related ledger activities.
• Manage a group of Senior Accountants and Accounting Managers across daily and month-end activities, making sure work meets GAAP standards
• Coach and support accounting team members, building a collaborative, high-performing culture.
• Examine financial data for trends and variances, and translate findings into insights that inform business decisions.
• Consistently identify opportunities to streamline processes across finance and accounting.

This will be a hybrid role with ample flexibility. Compensation for this role will depend on experience but will likely fall in the $175K to $200k range + Bonus.
