Description
The Assistant Controller is a key financial leadership role responsible for ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and compliance of the organization's financial operations within a real estate-focused environment. This role supports strategic decision-making by delivering reliable financial reporting, leading accounting teams, and maintaining strong internal controls that support organizational growth and stability.
Duties & Responsibilities
Oversee general ledger and financial reporting processes
Ensure compliance with GAAP and regulatory requirements
Coordinate audits and serve as a primary liaison with external auditors
Develop and monitor budgets and financial forecasts
Supervise, train, and mentor accounting staff
Education & Training
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
CPA certification strongly preferred
Ongoing professional education in accounting standards and regulations
Knowledge, Skills & Experience
8-10 years of progressive accounting experience, including supervisory or leadership roles
Strong knowledge of real estate accounting principles and financial reporting
Experience working with accounting and ERP systems
Advanced analytical, problem-solving, and financial reporting skills
Strong communication, leadership, and organizational abilities
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines consistently
