Assistant Cook

A member of the Production Department, a food service division at Lyons Magnus, an international food and beverage manufacturer headquartered in Fresno, California. The Assistant Cook is responsible for identifying and weighing raw materials and ingredients based on formulas provided. They will also assist the cook in ensuring products meet company and client specifications. Additional duties may be assigned as needed. This position reports to the Cook Manager.

Pay Range: $18.00 per hour

Hours:

• 5:00am - 5:00pm
• 5:00pm - 5:00am

Schedule: Monday - Friday

(Must be willing to work OT and Weekends)

Additional Information:This is an in-house temporary position aligned with a temp-to-hire process. While a permanent role may become available, conversion is not guaranteed and will depend on business needs, performance, and attendance. Benefits eligibility begins after 90 days.

• Responsible for weighing ingredients to ensure accuracy of specifications.
• Ensuring that formulas and ingredients are combined to ensure products meet specifications.
• Provides testing of ingredients through cooking process.
• Provide measuring and weighing of raw materials; and identifying raw materials for formulations.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Working knowledge and application of Food and Beverage Manufacturing processes.
• Familiarity with kettle mixers, pumps, heaters, and electrical panels.
• Working knowledge of liquid and powder measurements.
• Strong Forklift, industrial equipment skills required.

Required Qualifications:

• 2 years in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong forklift or industrial equipment skills required.

Preferred Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalency.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
