We're Hiring: Assistant Director
We're looking for an experienced Assistant Director to oversee accounting operations, financial reporting, internal controls, and a team of accounting professionals. Manage daily accounting operations and general ledger activities
Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting
Ensure accounting activities comply with GAAP, GASB, and applicable regulations
Oversee internal controls and accounting procedures
Review and approve reconciliations and financial activity
Oversee accounting for organizational assets
Manage and develop accounting and support teams
Handle hiring, performance management, training, and employee development
Partner with IT and leadership on financial system upgrades and improvements
Coordinate annual audit activities and financial reporting
Provide financial guidance to internal departments and stakeholders
Standardize procedures and identify opportunities to improve accounting efficiency
Support organizational initiatives and special projects
5+ years of accounting experience
3+ years of experience supervising staff
Education or government accounting background strongly preferred
Strong governmental accounting knowledge and experience
Experience with large, complex computerized/integrated financial systems
Strong understanding of GAAP, GASB, internal controls, and financial reporting
Experience managing and motivating accounting professionals
Bachelor's degree or equivalent advanced training in Accounting or a related field
CPA preferred
Strong communication, leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills
Hands-on, collaborative leadership style
Comfortable leading teams through change and process improvement
