Assistant Facility Support Manager

Overview:

With support from area leadership, provide day to day leadership and manage the technicians in the assigned area who perform maintenance and upkeep on all HVAC/R, beverage, and food service equipment to ensure the equipment is maintained, operating, and in good condition for Store Operations 247/365 according to department expectations within the shortest timeframe Ensure a positive team culture, drives accountability, and ensures high levels of customer service are maintained. Provide ongoing development and training for all technicians in the assigned area. Frequent travel to shadow and provide support to field technicians, attend district meetings, training, and corporate team meetings.

Responsibilities:

1. Partner with area leadership, HR Business Partner, and Leadership Development to execute development plans for internal talent, provide coaching that drives performance, and ensures performance reviews accurately reflectc performance.
2. Partner with area leaderhsip to ensure alignment of area objectives with the strategic goals of the department.
3. Ensure that Sheetz Facilities within assigned area meet the Store Operations standards and expectations by partnering with Store Managers, District Managers, and Regional Managers to understand operational needs, attending district and regional meetings, and maintaining a consistent field presence through at least four days per week and completing district rides twice per quarter.
4. Establish and maintain a positive work environment and culture for all employees in accordance with the high standards of Sheetz, Inc.
5. Ensure adherence to established methods, guidelines, and policies through regular field engagement with Technicians facilitation of Technician meetings and ride-alongs, partnership with area leadership and HR to address operational and personnel issues and timely allocation and approval of team PCard receipts.

6. Provide effective communications with store management teams, District Managers, Store Support department, and other corporate departments to service needs and control costs.

7. Provide scheduling and staffing for service coverage that meets organization needs, eliminates repeat calls, and meets at least a minimum acceptable level of performance standards for area.
8. Ensure training program is being followed, achieve and maintain state, federal, and factory certifications for all technicians in assigned area by documenting and maintaining records of training received and proficiency attained. Recommend additional training when needed and classes required for Technician development/advancement.
9. Perform onsite follow up to work performed by outside service vendors and document findings. Communicate issues and provide feedback to the Facility Support Manager regarding maintenance issues, facility/equipment opportunities and outside service vendor performance.
10. Identify and manage all safety risks and ensure environmental compliance.

Qualifications:

(Equivalent combinations of education, licenses, certifications and/or experience may be considered)

Education
• Associate’s degree in technical, mechanical, electronics or related field required

Experience
• Minimum 5 years demonstrated field experience with either Gas or Refrigeration systems or maintenance related field required
• Previous supervisory or team lead/mentor experience preferred.

Licenses/Certifications
• Valid State-Issued Driver’s License required
• Gilbarco/FE Petro/Veeder Root Certification required or ability to obtain within 12 months of hire
• EPA 608 Certification required or ability to obtain within 12 months of hire
• EPA Class B Operator Training Certification (by State where required) or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire
• WVDEP Class F Certification (WV only) required
