Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Assistant General Manager to join our dynamic team. We are a growing Hospitality group with multiple award winning restaurants and a new concept to open later this year. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the food service industry, independent restaurants as well as fine dining experiences. Experience with craft cocktails and high volume is necessary. This role requires exceptional leadership skills, a passion for customer service, and the ability to manage staff effectively while ensuring operational excellence.
Responsibilities
- Oversee daily operations of the restaurant, ensuring high standards of food quality and customer service.
- Assist in managing inventory control and food production processes to minimize waste and maximize efficiency.
- Train, develop, and supervise staff members to enhance their skills in food preparation, cooking, and customer service.
- Implement and maintain food safety standards in compliance with health regulations.
- Manage cash handling procedures and ensure accuracy in POS transactions on the Toast POS system.
- Conduct interviews and assist in hiring processes for new staff members.
- Collaborate with the General Manager on budgeting and financial planning for the restaurant.
- Foster a positive work environment that encourages teamwork and effective communication among staff.
- Handle customer inquiries and complaints professionally to ensure satisfaction.
- Support shift management by coordinating staff schedules and overseeing daily operations.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in restaurant management or as an Assistant Manager in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with Opentable
- Experience with Toast POS
- Strong knowledge of food handling, safety practices, and culinary techniques.
- Experience with inventory control systems and cash handling procedures.
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and train team members.
- Background in hospitality management or food service management is preferred.
- Familiarity with fine dining, casual dining, bar operations.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask effectively under pressure.
- Exceptional customer service skills with a focus on enhancing guest experiences.
